We are fielding a Girls 2007/08  for the 2019-2020 season. Team focus on fundamental ball mastery, field awareness, movement and more in-depth tactical mastery.

We are LA Fury FC, an all-girls soccer club based at Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES). Our mission is to foster individual player growth by helping players develop both technical and tactical soccer skills through a competitive and supportive team environment, while also instilling within them the importance of responsibility, accountability, commitment, teamwork, respect, and self-confidence – values which will help our young women not only in the game of soccer, but in every aspect of their lives.

Unwavering Commitment to Fundamentals

At LA Fury FC, our goal is to produce soccer players who can play soccer. Sounds obvious, but countless clubs are wholly focused on wins or even soccer tricks. Sadly, parents who were initially impressed, often learn too late that their child, who had done so "well," lacks the fundamentals to play the Beautiful Game.

Development – A Strategic Focus on Fundamentals

From technical skills (dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting) to tactical understanding (positioning, field spacing, movement) to fitness and the psychological aspect of the Beautiful Game, we are committed to our players’ soccer development. We fully understand that soccer is a vehicle for teaching responsibility, accountability, commitment, self-worth, and, more importantly, how to persevere through adversity and loss.

We impart these lessons to the players by creating a fun, exciting, and competitive soccer environment. We constantly improve our training curriculum and the education of our coaches to enable our players to reach their highest potential.

Teaching Possession Style Soccer

"Playing football is very simple, but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is."

- Johan Cruyff

Ironically, the fluid, effortless style of the passing game is the most difficult to master. Instead, it is infinitely easier for youth soccer teams to win games playing direct soccer.  At LA Fury FC, we teach our players to recognize what it means to play possession ball and to appreciate the Beautiful Game. As the children develop strong fundamental skills, they will be able to execute possession style soccer, but we don't abandon this learning curve simply to win games. Our focus is on the long-term, big picture success of your child.

We don't mask the Pay-to-Play model by charging certain players above-market rates and sending families on endless fundraising efforts. At LA Fury FC, it is the staff that does the hard work of cutting costs and pursuing grants so that talented children are not priced out of development.

There are two required practices during the week which last 120 minutes each. These practices take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Girls are additionally urged to do their “homework” and get at least 20 minutes of ball handling in daily. There are at least 12 fall season games that last 70 to 90 minutes, depending on the age group, and players must be on the field an hour before game time to warm up. Games take place on Saturdays and/or Sundays. There will also be tournaments and scrimmages.

Time Commitment

Players must commit to a full-year season, from March 2019 to February 2020. If you come to all practices, you as an individual improve. If all players come to all practices, teams succeed. This is not a recreational team and playing time is not guaranteed. If you are not able to commit, this will not be the right program for you.
